Lookup Cache County Jail Inmates

Cache County Jail is the main county detention facility serving Logan and Cache County, Utah. To look up inmates at Cache County Jail, start with the county jail roster status, then use the booked-inmate phone line, Sheriff's Records Department, or state and federal locators when the custody status falls outside ordinary local jail lookup. The facility holds local arrestees, county-sentenced inmates, and some people under state or federal custody categories, so a Cache County Jail inmate search should match the person's legal status to the right record source.

Cache County Jail Overview

Cache County Jail is operated by the Cache County Sheriff's Office from the Sheriff's Complex and Jail campus in Logan. The jail page describes the facility's mission as providing inmate housing while maintaining safety and security for the community, staff, and inmates. It also connects jail operations to court-mandated requirements and to movement into less restrictive settings for qualified participating inmates.

The jail is not limited to one custody category. Research sources show local pretrial detainees, sentenced county inmates, Utah Department of Corrections placement inmates, and federal custody categories can all matter at Cache County Jail. The jail page says religious services are available to county, state, and federal inmates in most classifications. ICE Office of Detention Oversight materials also inspected Cache County Jail in Logan in 2020, 2021, and 2022, which should be treated as historical federal inspection context rather than a promise of current ICE placement.

The matched Cache County Jail Division screenshot comes from the official jail page. It is the source for roster-unavailable notices, visitation rules, money deposits, mail restrictions, PREA reporting, and jail programs.

The Cache County Jail Division page is the main local source for custody lookup, visitation, mail, phone, and money rules.

Because the jail's public roster is unavailable, the official jail page is still important, but it is not enough by itself. Current custody questions should use the booked-inmate phone line, and official copies should go through the Sheriff's Records Department under GRAMA.

Cache County Jail Population

The strongest official Cache County Jail population numbers are bed and contract indicators from the Utah Department of Corrections FY2024 Jail Programs report, published in April 2025. That report lists 374 total jail beds, 150 contracted beds, and 100 beds available for housing to Corrections. It lists Cache County as male housing. It does not give a current average daily population for Cache County Jail, so capacity should not be described as a current headcount.

Cache County's contract role matters for inmate lookup. The Utah Department of Corrections says about a quarter of state inmates are housed in county facilities through the Inmate Placement Program. Cache County participates in that system. At the same time, Cache County's current inmate list notice says the public current list does not include Utah State or Federal inmates housed at Cache County Jail. A person can be physically in the jail but outside the visible local roster category.

Search Cache County Jail Inmates

The Cache County Jail Division page has sections for the current inmate list and the last-30-days arrest and booking list, but both were marked currently unavailable in the research. Each unavailable notice directs users to call (435) 755-1227 for booked-inmate information. The terms page says the roster, when available, is unofficial, not updated more than six times per hour and often less, and not the official public or legal record.

  1. Check whether the Cache County current inmate list or last-30-days booking list has returned on the jail page.
  2. If the jail roster is still unavailable, call (435) 755-1227 for booked-inmate information.
  3. If official jail records, booking records, reports, or releasable photo/video records are needed, use the Sheriff's Records Department GRAMA process.
  4. If the person is under UDC supervision, use the UDC offender search instead of relying on the county roster.
  5. For federal sentenced custody, use the BOP inmate locator; for immigration custody, use the ICE detainee locator.

VINELink is available for victim and release-notification needs. It should be treated as a notification channel, not a full substitute for the jail, court, UDC, BOP, or ICE lookup systems.

Note: No Cache County roster result does not prove release because the public roster is unavailable and excludes some custody categories.

Cache County Jail Custody Records

Cache County Jail participates in Utah's state Inmate Placement Program, but UDC lookup is still separate from county jail lookup. UDC says its offender search covers people currently incarcerated by UDC or on probation or parole with UDC. It also states that people awaiting trial or not yet sentenced and housed in county jail facilities are not listed there.

It also lists 61 inmate jobs available in roles such as kitchen, laundry, library, janitor, pod cleaner, groundskeeper, sewing, culinary, car wash, and call out. Tours are available by appointment from a classroom view into jail cameras; the jail page says to call 435-755-1222 for tours.
